how do you set up a home recording studio for a band?

i have a band and we are currently in the recording process,
frustrating as it is, we are completely clueless as to how to even
start. We have a USB audio interface for our guitars and vocals but
are unaware on how to use the equipment. We have an electric drumset
for recording and have audacity (which we are unsure of on how to
use). We also have the snowball mic as we heard it is great for
recording. I have been looking for recording software but am unsure as
to which one is best. We like to play post-hardcore, metalcore, some
deathmetal, i.e.(Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May
